Are your signs made for outdoor use?

Yes. Our signs are manufactured for outdoor use using durable materials designed to withstand normal weather exposure. Product materials and specifications are listed on individual product pages.

What materials are your signs made from?

Most of our traffic, parking, warning, and property signs are manufactured from aluminum. Material thickness and construction vary by product and may include flat aluminum, extruded aluminum, roll-up sign materials, or other specialty materials.

Check the individual product page for the specifications of the signs you are ordering.

Are your signs reflective?

Most of our signs are available with reflective sheeting. Available reflectivity options vary by product and application.

Where multiple options are available, you can select the desired reflectivity level on the product page.

What reflectivity options do you offer?

How do I know which size sign I need?

Available sizes are shown on each product page. The appropriate size depends on the sign type, viewing distance, roadway or property application, and any applicable federal, state, local, or project-specific requirements.

For regulated applications, always verify the requirements that apply to your location before ordering.

Can signs be single-sided or double-sided?

Some signs are available in both single-sided and double-sided configurations. Available options are shown on the individual product page.

Street name signs, for example, may be ordered with printing on one or both sides.

Do you offer quantity discounts?

Yes. Quantity discounts are available on many products and are displayed directly on the product page when applicable.

Larger quantities may qualify for custom pricing. Please use our Custom Quote Form for large-volume orders.

What if I need more than 100 signs?

Please contact us for a custom quote on large-volume orders.

Can I order just one sign?

Yes. Most products may be ordered individually unless a minimum quantity is stated on the product page.

Do you sell sign posts, brackets, and mounting hardware?

Yes. We offer sign posts, mounting brackets, street sign brackets, sign stands, and other installation hardware.

Are your traffic signs MUTCD compliant?

Many of our regulatory, warning, guide, and traffic-control signs are manufactured to MUTCD specifications where applicable.

Product descriptions identify MUTCD-related specifications when relevant to that particular sign.

What does MUTCD mean?

MUTCD stands for the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices. It establishes national standards used for traffic signs, pavement markings, signals, and other traffic-control devices on public roadways in the United States.

Does every sign on your website have to meet MUTCD standards?

No. MUTCD standards primarily apply to traffic-control devices used on public roadways and certain other regulated applications.

Private-property, courtesy, informational, facility, and custom signs may not be governed by MUTCD requirements.

Can Cheap Street Signs tell me which sign I am legally required to use?

No. We can provide product specifications and general information, but the purchaser is responsible for determining which sign, size, message, placement, reflectivity level, and mounting method are appropriate for the specific application.

Federal, state, local, workplace, and property requirements may differ.

Do state and local requirements differ from the MUTCD?

They can. States and local jurisdictions may adopt additional requirements or specifications.

We recommend checking with the applicable state or local agency when purchasing signs for regulated roadway applications.

What street name sign sizes do you offer?

We offer 6-inch and 9-inch street name sign blade heights.

Additional length, material, color, lettering, and mounting options vary by product.

Should I choose a 6-inch or 9-inch street name sign?

The appropriate blade height depends on the roadway, posted speed, required lettering size, viewing distance, and local requirements.

Six-inch blades are commonly used for lower-speed local and private-road applications, while 9-inch blades provide room for larger lettering and increased visibility.

What is the difference between flat and extruded street name signs?

Flat street name signs are manufactured from flat aluminum.

Extruded street name signs have a reinforced profile that provides additional rigidity and a more substantial finished appearance.

The best choice depends on your installation, mounting hardware, and local specifications.

What colors are available for street name signs?

Street name signs are available in several background and lettering combinations, including green, blue, and white/black configurations. However, MUTCD restricts use of certain colors for public roadways.

Do you make custom signs?

Yes. We offer custom sign options for customers who need specific wording, layouts, colors, or other configurations.

Are custom signs returnable?

Because custom signs are produced specifically for the purchaser, they cannot be returned.

How is shipping calculated?

Shipping is calculated automatically during checkout based on the items in your cart and the delivery address.

You can see the shipping cost before placing your order.

How do you ship orders?

Most orders ship by UPS Ground.

Products are generally sized and packaged to ship by UPS without requiring motor-freight delivery.

For unusually large or heavy orders that cannot ship by UPS, we will contact you with available freight options and costs before shipment.

Do you offer expedited shipping?

Yes. UPS Next Day Air and 2nd Day Air may be available by request.

Expedited shipping reduces transit time but does not shorten manufacturing or production time.

Contact us before ordering if you have a firm delivery deadline.

How quickly will my order ship?

In-stock items may ship quickly, while custom or made-to-order products require production time before shipment.

Most in-stock orders ship the same business day when ordered before 10:00 AM ET.

Will my entire order arrive in one box?

Not necessarily. Larger orders may be packed in multiple boxes, and some products may ship separately.

Tracking information will be provided as shipments are processed.

How do I track my order?

Tracking information is provided when your order ships.

Do you ship outside the contiguous 48 states?

At this time we do not ship outside the contiguous 48 states.

Can I arrange my own shipping or provide a UPS account number?

Unfortunately, customer-provided carrier accounts are not accepted.

What payment methods do you accept?

Currently, we accept Visa, Mastercard, and American Express.

Can I request a quote before ordering?

Yes. Contact us for help with large quantities, custom signs, special configurations, or orders that require a formal quotation.

Do you accept purchase orders?

Purchase orders are accepted from approved business and government customers with an established account. A credit application may be required before the first purchase order is accepted.

Are tax-exempt purchases available?

Yes. Tax-exempt customers must provide a valid tax-exemption certificate and have their account approved before placing a tax-exempt order.

Can I return a stock sign?

Yes. All returns require a Return Authorization (RA) number. Contact us at custsvc@cheapstreetsigns.com and we’ll walk you through it. Packages sent back without an RA number may be refused or returned to you at your expense.

What should I do if my order arrives damaged?

Please contact us promptly if an order arrives damaged and keep the original packaging until the issue has been resolved.

Sign posts and hardware often travel in long boxes, and occasionally a package may be damaged in transit. Please inspect your order when it arrives.

If anything is bent, crushed, damaged, or missing, contact us within 5 business days of delivery and include photos of the item and packaging.

We’ll work with you to resolve the issue. Please keep the product, shipping carton, and original packaging until the claim is complete, as the carrier may require them for inspection or documentation.

What if I receive the wrong product?

Contact us with your order information and details about the item received so we can review the order and correct the problem.

What if I ordered the wrong size, message, color, or configuration?

Contact us as soon as possible.

If production has not started, we may be able to make a change. Once a custom or made-to-order product has entered production, changes or cancellations may not be possible.

Do I need an account to place an order?

No. You can check out as a guest without creating an account.

What are the benefits of creating an account?
